Fit: Smaller
Fits strange?

I ordered this originally in a medium (I’m a medium or small in most clothes, I’ve gained some weight recently but still mostly fit into the same sizes). I have no clue what I weigh but I hold most of my weight in my hips, butt, upper thighs, and lower stomach, and usually wear a 34DD or DDD bra. I wear a 6-8 in similarly cut dresses from Reformation generally, a small or medium in almost all tops, and usually a small or medium at the waist for skirts but I sometimes size up to an L to accommodate my hips. I’m usually a 25 in shorts from Madewell and a 26-28 in curvy fit jeans from Madewell and elsewhere. I was SHOCKED at how small the dress fit initially. I couldn’t zip it up or pull it down over my hips. I exchanged for an XL and it’s still a little snug all over but especially on the arms and waist — I plan on keeping it because it’s super cute but I don’t think it will be the everyday, “feeling cute” type dress I had imagined and more of an event dress. The dress is super well made and feels high quality, but I am taking off two stars for the really weird sizing. I expect to size up or down a alphabetical size for dresses, but I feel like this comes down to the brand’s pattern making more than an intentional size change. I am not a big or even truly midsize person except in the hips, and if I am wearing the largest size you make, that is a patterning or QC issue. Words of warning to other customers — yes it’s reformation, aritzia, a&o factory quality, but it feels like this is partially so affordable because they skip some steps in design.

Fit: Smaller
Cute dress, just runs small

This dress is such a flattering fit and looks adorable! The fabric has a good weight to it and looks great on. Padding on the shoulders gives it just the right amount of structure. I am 5'2" and the length is great for me, but I can see it being a bit short or taller girls. Unfortunately, it runs very small, so I would recommend sizing up 1 or maybe 2 sizes.
